Normally we begin by taking nominations for Speaker, which we could do, although without a third of the assembly the options are a tad constrained Tongue

If either of the two Assemblymen we do have wishes to make a nomination anyway, we can get started. Otherwise we need to wait for the outcome of the court case.

Very well. I look forward to answering any questions you may have for me.

We normally have a separate confirmation thread that is typically started by the Speaker. Since there is no speaker at the moment, and I know of no law forbidding me to do so, I will open a thread for your confirmation to try and speed up the process in the interests of ensuring representation of our region in the Atlasian Senate.

I stand corrected. It will have to wait.

That will make things interesting because it also requires us to have a speaker chosen by 9:30 AM tomorrow morning in order to open that thread.

What happens if the speaker is not chosen in time? Is Cassius confirmed by default? That's something of a loophole in our constitution: we have a time limit but no clarification on what happens if the time limit expires without action taking place.

I am appointing Hifly and DC al Fine to fill the vacancies left by Spiral and Cassius to the Mideast Assembly. Thank you for all those who applied; it was a tough decision.

The Lt. Governor appointment will be announced later, most likely this evening.

We already have a budget on the floor from when Spiral was Speaker. I will propose some changes shortly, but the way I understand it, the old proposition is still on the floor.

When Inks was Speaker, I recall that he always did it like this. In fact, he often waited less than a minute. In any case, I doubt that there would be any objections to me being Speaker in the Assembly.

Of course not, but that would be better to avoid illegality Tongue.

There is no illegality. The 24 hours is up and Spiral was the only Assemblyman nominated. He doesn't have to give any time for objection at all. We have no constitutional provision or statute that dictates otherwise.
