Signs from a man who really didn't want to be elected Senator, and just got pushed into the job.

And another reason why, regardless of age, he will try again to become Governor.

OK, explain then, in detail, why you think he will become a good senator.

He said Rendell will consider this request, along with other worthy appeals, when making budget decisions. Age raises doubt in Casey At 58, U.S. Sen.-elect Bob Casey Jr. said he might be too old to run for governor.

Casey, the departing state treasurer, said in a news conference last week that he looks forward to his six-year term in the Senate, which starts in January. If he's lucky, he might get to serve a second term, he said.

By then, running for governor might be out of the question.

"I'm going to be a fairly older man at that point," he said.

He said that after 2 terms, not in 2010. Kind of hinting that he will run in 2010.

Of course, Rendell was 58 when he ran for his first term, so that's certainly not true.

What? He's 56! Bunning is 75 and senile. No comparison.

Casey's 47 he has a long road of him before he is considered too old to run for anything.

Wow... he hasn't been been sworn in yet and he is already talking about running for governor.  He has even less tact than I thought... and make no mistake, he is running.  This is just his way of putting the idea out there.  Anyone need anymore proof?

At what point he is too old, is really up to Casey. If he thinks he is too old to run for governor...then that is something we should respect.

So he's basically lying about serving a full term. Thanks.

*tries to care*

Sorry, I can't. The only things I do care about:

1-Rick Santorum will soon no longer be in the Senate
2-Harry Reid will soon by Majority Leader

There is nothing in the article that substantiates what is bolded above. The article implies quite the opposite. And the thread title is wrong as well- it should read 2018- that's when Casey was referring to..

Too old to run my ass.

I'm hoping he'll run for Governor.  He can do lose damage in Harrisburg than in Washington.

The headline should be changed, since it is misleading. Casey is saying he will be too old to run in 2018. Which may very well be true.

No, he says he is hoping for TWO terms. And then he will be too old to run for Governor. I now see others have pointed this out as well and it's becoming confusing. Tongue

Well if he runs for reelection, the seat is safe D, if he doesn't, it's a tossup, so Republicans probably shouldn't want him to run for reelection.
