Unfortunately George and Laura are not exactly good role models, either.

That has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

Anyway, a stupid thing to do, but kids do stupid things at that age.  Regardless, the punishment here seems to be lacking.

Actually, I think it has something to do with something, but what do I know?

You are quite the partisan hack if you think underage drinking has anything to do with the President.  Hate to break this to you, but teenagers were drinking long before Bush was in office.

Well, the truth is that slightest criticism of George W, whom you seem to regard as some kind of god, drives you Republicans into an uncontrollable rage.

I criticize Bush when he deserves it.  But I don't even think jfern would have managed to blame Bush for this one.

There is a connection. DUI and underage drinking are both illegal.

DUI and underage drinking occured long before Bush or his father were in office.

Not only that, but DUI and underage drinking laws are state laws, not federal.  (Not to mention have been on the books since before Bush was even born.)

Who blamed Bush for this one?

Duh, I know what I said. (obviously you didn't get my point)
So who blamed Bush for this one?

Duh, you did.  You said that the president and his wife aren't good role models, I said that it has nothing to do with this, then you said you think it does.  By your reasoning, the character of the president and his wife contributed to the fact that Tweed decided to bring vodka to school.

You then proceeded to connect Bush to the drinking laws, which

A)  Have been in place long before any Bush became President and

B)  Are state laws, and hence not within his jurisdiction anyway

My point was that Republicans are hypocrites.

And this has to do with Tweed's drinking how?

Which brings me back to my initial post:  This has nothing to do with anything.
