I'm guessing you live in Campbell County? I can tell you Obama definitely didn't win Highland Heights and most likely didn't win Woodlawn or Silver Grove.

You're looking at 2008. He won Woodlawn and Silver Grove in 2012. He won a precinct in Highland Heights, but I don't know if it's enough to win the whole city.

Suburban Campbell County (outside I-275) is one of few places that has not only openly rewarded school harassment but has also tried molding the entire community around it.

I also think it's interesting that one of few strong GOP areas in northern Campbell County is Evergreen Cemetery.

Here's the 2012 map:

http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/KY/Campbell/43127/107594/en/md_zoom.html?cid=3&

It's unambiguous that Obama won Woodlawn and Silver Grove.

If that's the case, then the rural areas of the county swung HARD for Romney.

Milwaukee's western suburbs do have a fairly large evangelical presence ( Elmbrook Church, for example). I once met some people from Brookfield who exclaimed, "but you're not black!!" after I told them I live in the actual city of Milwaukee. Creepy.

Everything between Madison and Milwaukee is mostly populated by white people who fled their old neighborhood when a black family moved in down the street.

That's not true, don't state things that only liberals think are true, please. This is where stereotypes come from.

Of course, his description would apply to nearly all suburbs outside the South (and a fair amount there, too)

Nowhere. Nothing is as creepy as the dominionist Tea Party exurbs.

Not even close! Either Baltimore or New Orleans, though both have cleaned up in recent years. Most cities have. The late 20th century was ridiculous!

Crime is going down, but still, the top 5 most dangerous (crime) cities in America are New Orleans, Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, and Chicago.

Maybe it is just the proximity talking, but I feel like Oakland is pretty damn scary.

Funny how a lot of these places ten years later are now swinging rapidly left.

This is true. However, I am a trans person in North Carolina, so I don't trust them nevertheless.

Have to concur with Far Western Harris County, just because I hadn't expected to see porch monkeys and George Wallace campaign buttons very proudly displayed in Greater Houston antique shops. You get the impression that "Old Houston" dispersed with the boom of the last 25 or so years and the influx of Katrina refugees, Mexican immigrants, and Californian suburbanites, and they're especially bitter about how the city's character has changed so they make triggering the libs their whole personality.

Moscow, Idaho. There's a church there that makes up about 10% of the population and wants to make it a "Christian town" according to their leader Douglas Wilson (who recently went on Tucker Carlson's show).

If we're talking left-wing fundamentalism, probably Montgomery County, Maryland.

And yet is one of the most Democratic places in the state. Not really a good example.

Yeah, that's part of the appeal for the church, taking over a blue dot in a red sea.

For me it's probably Forsyth County. GA. Over 80% for Romney. It creeps me out because it's so cookie cutter and plastic and there's this conservative group think that forces everybody in line. In 20 years it went from Appalachian KKK enclave to Stepford wives.

Oh, how the times have changed.

Not much related, but there are some 'israelita del nuevo pacto / FREPAP' enclaves in the peruvian Amazon. Also, they have their Temple in the outskirs of Lima and I suppose a good part of their urban followers are in poor areas in the outskirs of cities. I can imagine Torre Blanca, Carabayllo becoming the local version of a deep social conservative exburb if it isn't one already. Still, pretty sure the 'frontier enclaves' are creepier.
