I really don't get it though. Why do so many politicians, who are otherwise so careful about their PR, constantly post crap like this on Twitter?

Homosexuality is innate. It's hard for non-Mormons to turn it off.

First of all, the tweet was actually made in 2009.
Second of all, I feel like there are some politicians who believe that they can be 'more human' on Twitter. See: Grassley, Chuck

I'm a big fan of the AAD meme involving changing Zephyr Teachout's name to wacky hippy names (a descendent of the good old Bruce Bongley/Bertie Bopkins/Bilbo Bojaggins of Iowa)
