I want to respond to Hashemite's claim that the senate does not address the environment.  We address the environment but such proposals like adopting Kyoto Procotol were voted down because they are not good plans.  Does he offer any plans himself?

Also, I think it is time I did a follow up interview if you have some new questions for me

The Kyoto Protocol is the first thing to do when trying to take any environmental action. I know you do things on the environment in there, but each plan that has a decent chance to help solve environment problems is voted down. Does the Senate do anything to address global warming, climate change?

With the current senate I think you are sorely out of luck and even if I do not reelection you probably are still out of luck there.  One the senate is one that believes in free market and capitalist ideals, such as a only realistic environmental solutions.  There is also a sizable portion of the senate that is sane enough to not buy into man-made global warming.  I am not sure what exactly you want, Ebowed is trying to get a bill to stop ANWR, but not only does it have little support in the senate, the president is threatening a veto if passed.  It looks if you want strict government controls on the environment you need only need a lot of new senators but a new president at all.  Atlasia has never been a country that tried to pass environmental laws.  I suggest you try doing it at your regional level.

If you look in the past Mideast initiatives, former Gov. PolNut did a great job at doing environmental work at a regional level. He did a lot of important actions on that matter.
Yes, I know the Senate won't do anything about our dying earth as they seem to be interested more by oil drilling in the ANWR and other economic policies. I'm not against economic policies, but they should come with environmental policies, and the Senate is not doing that. I'm definitely decieved that the Senate fails to do any durable, realistic actions on the environment.

The King wishes to see a debate, or a sword duel to the death, whatever the gentlemen prefer.
Virtual sword duels greatly lack in excitement

A debate then, if you two agree, DWTL has evolved much in the way of defending his policy in the last few months whereas I find myself very interested in the NRM. This would be very entertaining to see.

I would agree to moderate this debate, or co-moderate, if the King wishes to moderate as well. I will open the thread upon both sides' consent.

SPC, you don't believe in man-made global warming, which will be the main point of this debate. I'd request a poster that hasn't made his views on the subject clear moderate, or co-moderate with you.

As part of the National Weekly Atlasian's election coverage, we will be tracking the candidates for Senate:

District 1
EarlAW*

District 2
DWTL*
Ernest
Mr. Moderate

District 3
PBrunsel*

District 4
BrandonH*
Bacon King
Sensei

District 5
Ebowed*
King

Bold declared
Italics considering
* Incumbent

The National Weekly Atlasian would like to sponsor Senatorial debates for Districts 2 and 5. The National Weekly Atlasian would also like to sponsor Senatorial debates for Districts 1 and 3 if EarlAW and PBrunsel have a challenger. We refuse to sponsor a Senatorial debate in District 4 unless a non-RPP member would like to comoderate. Scheduling is subject to change.

Unless the NRM runs a candidate in D4, I could possibly put my name for consideration for moderating.

If Aflietch wins the runoff next weekend, then the liberal bloc will possess a veto-proof majority, allowing some of Senator Ebowed's extremer proposals, such as illegalizing lightbulbs and providing socialized health care, to pass.

Oh what a load of crap. Seriously, I've had enough of this. I'm not a member of any bloc, I've certainly not ran as a liberal and for somneone who organised the District 3 debate you don't seem to have read a bloody word of anything I had to say!

I embarrased this rag before and I'm prepared to do it again. Point out where I said I would support socialised healthcare or 'extreme' proposals.

Former Lt. Gov of the Southeast Andy Jackson is considering a run, and would be likely to generate support from all three of the major Atlasian parties if he ran.

While the party currently consists of only two elected officials and a leader who has never lead a party before, they hope to attract support for centrist causes.  They have already caught the eye of presumptive AG Franzl and Sen. AndrewCT.

False. I led the NRM a while back, which attracted a few members, including MasterJedi and Rocky. On another note, Franzl is already a party member.

As you might have noticed, the "party flags and logos" which you seem to mock here, is third on the DA convention's order of business, so it obviously isn't a top priority for the convention.

Forgive me if I am not impressed by that party's "success"

The question is not whether or not you're impressed or anything, it's that what you wrote is false. Regardless of what you personally think. That's all.

What I said wasn't false, what I implied by "never lead a party before" was actually lead it somewhere.

That implication wasn't clear to me. I don't know if it was to others, but it certainly wasn't clear to me personally.

I'll probably be starting up the ''kingofthebenchpress for President" write-in campaign soon.

Has he been allowed back onto this forum? I wish Mr. Liep would consider allowing him back.

Try spelling Dave's name right first before making requests.

The NLC is still the biggest party in the Northeast? Wonder how long that'll last.

The NLC's policies fit comfortably within the moderate wing of the RPP. As Northeast Chair of the RPP, I am happy to talk to any discouraged NLCers who might be thinking of joining another party.

But the NLC's policies overall fit much better with the DA and therefore would be a better fit for our party.  Former NLCers now is the time!  Jump on the DA bandwagon!

However it is more likely that in future, the chief battle will be between the SDP and the RPP - former NLCers have a greater future within the RPP.

Who says DA candidates can't win elections?

kind of funny considering every single member of our party holds an office....some elected, some appointed.

But most got those positions before the DA was formed. Except for you but the DA had little to do with your ascension to office.

So? Joining the DA makes you much less electable?

I don't think party affiliation matter a whole much, either.

Now, calculate the % of total voters that are zombie/inactive voters. The number will be staggering, methinks.

I hope they changed the name.
