OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON EDUCATION COMMITTEE...AND OTHER THINGSHello folks, for my first post I wish to make two points
1. Figure I do my part to help advertise the special committee Governor Truman has created about education in Fremont. I encourage any who are interested to check out the forum
here I have a small overview of topics I intend to bring up.
* Public and private schools are both equally valuable. I am of the option that government has not always felt that way towards public schools. Thus I will lobby to insure public schools are given the funds and attention needed to ensure that they do not continue to decline.
* I like Charter Schools (IRL I graduated from one) and there are great things they can do. But if we are to ensure that they do the most good, we need strict screening and oversight to insure they do not take advantage of their unique status to help themselves, without giving kids the education they need.
* We need to rethink our policies of the past, where we just threw tests at the problem. We need an over vamp on how we judge the performances of our schools.
This is not everything of course, simple a teaser of some of the things I will be thinking about. I hope to see many faces there.
Secondly, as you can see on the info area, I am with the ecosocialists, and I intend to keep the 'eco' part of the name. I am currently working on a bill to tackle some of the environmental issues we face today. You should expect me to submit the bill within the next few days.
Finally, just want to say I am happy to see Fremont active, I was sad that I didn't get to do much the first time I was elected and I am joyed to finally be able to start making a mark on Atlasia.
That's all for now, I wish you all a lovely day.
