The truth is, the party needs Lieberman more than he needs the party. The polls show him landsliding regardless of whether he is an independent or a Democrat.

Really?  You think Lieberman was worse than Thomas Eagleton or Dan Quayle?  If so, you must be in a highly medicated state.

Exactly.

Was he worse than Geraldine Ferraro, or George HW Bush?

I assume that everyone criticizing Lamont for not being a poor hates FDR?

lol Nice.

So I trust we all saw the Rasmussen Reports poll.

Lieberman 46%
Lamont 40%

I'm guessing Lieberman is gathering signatures already. Hes going to give up on the primary. Lamont is gaining on him so rapidly, hes not gonna bother.

True, but have you seen this Rasmussen poll:

"That the war in Iraq has diverted far too many of our dollars, and too much of our attention, from our needs back home."

That statement alone I find questionable. Is he trying to say that our soldiers struggle in Iraq is not worth our attention?

Support the troops, bring them home alive.

But is the battle they fight "not worth our attention"? Regardless of whether you support their mission or not.
