I think that's wrong. Why should I make any presumption as to what a voter means? The voter himself should make it clear who he's voting for and in what order. The SoFE should be concerned with arithmetic and mathematics, not semiotics.

I suppose that if I wanted to continue with this job long enough, someone would call me out on breaking and ignoring rules (à la Inks when I was RG) and then I'd rage quit anyway. Better to go out with some semblance of dignity.

I will put them on the ballot. This is the way I've always done it and it's what people expect: inclusion over exclusion.

Had I not done that, Yankee, there would have been four candidates on the ballot in a contest for five seats.
