Too early to call. The verdict in that NYC trial could loom large because pretty much all polling says Trump takes a big hit if he becomes a convicted felon

It says otherwise though, according to polls the verdict on the hush trial doesn’t affect the people’s vote at all.

Won't they just get to summation on Thursday then? Or you mean deliberations will be next week?

The reporters on Twitter say the judge said that they'll wrap up evidence this week and move to summation on Tuesday.  He probably doesn't want to have the holiday weekend to break up deliberations.

I know it's anecdotal, but I was at a bachelor party all weekend in Atlantic City. The crowd in the casino didn't exactly feel like people are experiencing a reccession.

Don't lotteries become more successful during recessions? I'm not sure about casinos, but it might be signaling just the opposite or nothing at all.

Trump is going to win easily. He’s not getting convicted.

Trial has convened a bit early today to deal with some evidentiary issues.  The judge says they won't be able to get to summation tomorrow, so it looks like it will be next week.

He could serve a third term, but not be elected a third time.

There is a theory he (or Obama, Clinton, GW Bush) could be elected VP and have a sock puppet at the top of the ticket who immediately resigns.

For what it's worth, Clinton at least has said he thinks this scenario is Unconstitutional.

It would be. It's a clear violation of the wording of the 22nd. In such a scenario, the new President would either have to immediately resign themselves, or the Speaker of the House would simply become President and the current VP (lets say Clinton in this case) would remain VP.

I think it is but SCOTUS hasn't adjudicated it and the line about eligibility originally didn't have a term requirement so there's potentially wiggle room there. Clinton's view is you should view the Constitution as a whole document and not piecemeal so the 22nd Amendment now implicitly imposes a new requirement on eligibility for the Vice Presidency.

Israel officials themselves said out loud that Israel is committing genocide.

ICC was forced to do it.

The crime is so blazon that if ICC don't do it, the rest of the world can easily point out the laws don't apply to western countries and their allies.

Crickets from the Western media.

This dude is a tankie apologist for the Chinese, Russian, Iranian, and Syrian governments who claims that the Syrian government’s use of chemical weapons is a hoax, has been denying the existence of China’s genocide against the Uyghurs, refers to Israelis as “Judeo-Nazis,” has compared Israel to ISIS, and made numerous false claims to minimize the 10/7 massacre including suggesting that it may’ve been an Israeli false-flag operation.  He’s not a remotely credible sources, but it says a lot about you that you seem to think he is.

Is anyone who condemns the genocide in Gaza suddenly a tankie apologist or antisemitist?

You even called Amnesty International antisemitist... Or Jeremy Corbyn or Rashida Tlaib.

1) What’s happening in Gaza is objectively not a genocide.  Words have meaning.  This is simply a statement of fact.

2) I have called them anti-Semitic and I stand by that.

That post is hilarious. "You called this unambiguously antisemitic person an antisemite...but you also called these other unambiguously antisemitic people antisemites! Checkmate!"
