A lot of 2015 UKIP vote seems to flow to Labour instead of Tories like everyone just assumed.

many of them were 2010 Lab voters
I know that but the general assumption was that they were lost for the cause. They seem to have come back home.

So what are our takeaways from this?

Mine are:

1. Hubris is still as powerful a force in human affairs as ever.
2. Muh fundamentals are overrated. Campaigns matter.
3. People just won't vote like the media tell them they are going to vote at the beginning of a campaign anymore.

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see the SNP below 30 seats !

Frankly, I can see Lib Dems only hanging on to Westmoreland, Orkney & Shetland, that seat they gained somehow in Scotland (East Dunbartonshire) and not much else.

With the kind of swing from SDLP to Sinn Fein seen in the two seats SF gained (South Down and Foyle), I wonder if Belfast South is also in play ! Which would put SF at 6 seats.

NI looks like it will end with 10 DUP, 7 SF and the one Independent. She's a unionist IIRC, but would she prop up a Con government ?

That's it all of NI is called with SF gaining Fermanagh & South Tyrone from UUP. UUP wiped out, SDLP wiped out.

To me, the story of tonight is epitomized in seats like Lincoln, Ipswich and Peterborough.

It's awfully strange that the pacifist socialist was able to win back UKIP voters.
Not if you understand politics, tbh.

Lib Dems gain Tewkesbury from Conservatives
No that seems to be a mistake, would need a MASSIVE swing.

The Labour firewall was strong. The Lib Dems haven't gained any of Labour's seats, only the Tories managed to do so, 5 times as of yet.

Sky News, The Telegraph, and The Independent are saying Lib Dems gained Tewkesbury from the Tories.
The BBC has it held with 60% Tory vs 21% Labour.

Is Richmond Park a strong Lib Dem area?
Well it's a good LibDem area, but also a very strong Tory area.
