I am sure he fully expected to run again in 2004 at that point in time (and would have run and won had 9/11 not occurred)

I am sure he fully expected to run again in 2004 at that point in time (and would have run and won had 9/11 not occurred)

I think he lost interest in running for or being President at some point between then and 2004. After all he didn't run last year when he could've taken the nomination in a cakewalk and would've destroyed McCain. But he doesn't care anymore.

Indeed. I was hopind that there were be about 96 faithless electors who voted for McCain. How funny would that be for Obama to have resigned his Senate seat and preparing himself to be President-elect and lose at the last minute?
