It will be the first time that any two Presidents have served out two full terms back to back since when?

Since 1825, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe all of the Democratic-Republican party each served two consecutive terms back to back.

That feat has never been repeated. The closest was when Truman served ALMOST two full terms preceding the Eisenhower Presidency.

Interesting point. I'm glad you brought it up Smiley

What about Lincoln and Grant? True, Lincoln was killed, but he WAS elected to the second term. In essence, Johnson's term was truly Lincoln's, the Congress reminded him of that too Wink  Then Grant, of course, was elected to two terms.

Definitely but Beets question was "It will be the first time that any two Presidents have served out two full terms back to back since when? "

Thats what I answered Smiley
