Uh, you are aware that at the convention, the party can vote to completely invalidate the primaries and just use a smoke filled room, right? In fact, the entire set of party rules on both sides can be changed last-minute at the convention.
If they didn't do it to McGovern, they won't do it to Sanders. And if they did, they'd tear the party apart. It'd be a 1968esque spectacle.
Yeah seriously. It's one thing for superdelegates to tip the scale in a close race, it's a whole other thing to deny the nomination to a guy who wins in a landslide.
