I was also extremely surprised that there wasn't a mass walkout of Bernie or bust individuals.

There was.

Jill Stein actually led the protest outside. But I don't think it matters because those people weren't voting for Hillary either way.

I would, actually, classify those people walking out as a very positive development.

B. Bill Clinton spoke very well. I still want to hear more about national security and our military.

I want to hear about the need to stop spending more then the next 11 countries combine on the Military. We could put that money into infrastructure, science and education.
I don't want a weak, foolish military either. I don't want troops who don't know how to fight or what it means to be an American.

I will go with A-.

In general, it was a very solid day but lacking spectacular speakers, except for Bill Clinton.

Not that there were too many things wrong but, after RNC and yesterday's first DNC day, I think we are starting from a very low expectation threshold, and I would like to see how tomorrow and Thursday go.

We are not. If you want to fight, please spare the rest of us.

Breitbart AND Rachel Maddow?

You couldn't get any worse than that.

Maybe talking about this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clash_of_Civilizations

Huntington was right about some things (the idea of "waves" of democratization is still useful, for example) but he wasn't right about the existence of some sort of "clash of civilizations." That theory is far too simplistic to accurately explain international politics - it doesn't account for the diversity within the "civilizations."

I would too. the walkout doesn't affect my grading, and it shouldn't impact others.

Agreed. It doesn't make any sense why you'd ask for change in the Democratic Party and then leave it because they didn't crown your preferred nominee.

A major chunk (I'd say 70-80%) of Bernie supporters are going to Hillary. Most of the Berniebots on Reddit think Jill Stein is crazy.

Bernie pushing for unity, Bill delivering another strong speech ratings trump the RNC by 6, Mothers of the Movement bringing tears to my eyes.

Better than Day 1, and that was already an A for me.
