Atwater's role seems to be a bad luck position for ambitious politicians. Before him came Alex Sink, who now has two pretty humiliating losses under her belt; and then Tom Gallagher who failed once to run for senate and four times for governor. The role was created from the merger of two roles. In one of these, Treasure (and a few other roles in the title) Gallagher was preceded by Bill Nelson (who escaped the curse) and Bill Gunter Jr who failed three times to run for Senate.

Florida dems, if they're smart need to recruit some other lefty hero to split the vote, or even undermine Grayson entirely.

Unfortunately as you may have noticed I said the phrase "Florida dems, if they're smart"

Alan Grayson should go all in, and suggest Murphy endorsing Murphy is part of a diabolical Papist agenda.

But seriously, no voter is going to say "hm, I was undecided until now, but now that the junior senators from Hawaii New Mexico and Rhode Island have spoken, I'm all in for Murphy!"
