Wu probably won't even run again and the district is D+8, likely to stay the same in redistricting, so I don't think this will be an opportunity for Republicans.
Indeed, I am sure that the Dems must be pressuring Wu quite strongly to step aside. While Wu's scandal is rather embarrassing, I don't think that there is much reason to assume the seat is in danger at this juncture.
If they're somehow
not pressuring him to resign, then they deserve to lose the seat TBH. An important party function is casting off the dead weight; bad things happen when this is not done. Just look at Bill Jefferson (granted the Dems retook his seat two years later, so it was by no means a catastrophe to lose it).
