I don't see any moderate-conservative battles brewing in the GOP ranks at the moment except what's going down in Pennsylvania.  They might endorse a few inevitable candidates (the one who will get the nomination, I mean).  Portman, with economic experience and focus, might be a particular interest.

I expect them to be interested in opposing Boxer.

Does the CFG get involved in governor's races?  They might like Whitman

But it's not like Robin Carnahan is in the same lightyear as Claire McCaskill, who was just a state auditor and hardly a political heavyweight

I know, but you can't exactly just pretend like they're equals!  This year's Carnahan could have beaten last year's Talent under a worse environment!!!  I don't know if Talent has gained in popularity any, but I'm sure that would be counteracted by the fact that the seat will be open this time instead of Talent being the incumbent.

I think these direct comparisons are ridiculoso
