Could centrist Democratic Rep. Thomas Suozzi (D-N.Y.) from NY-03 district, lose reelection in 2018 after his comments were published and revealed this weekend, about "using the Second Amendment" on President Trump?

NY-03 is a D+1 district, essentially a lean Democratic district in parts of white ethnic Queens, Long Island (Nassau's Glen Cove, Roslyn), and Suffolk's Huntington and Northport. It is one of my favorite congressional districts by the way, next to NJ-06, NJ-07, NJ-11, CA-49, NY-01, NY-02, NY-04)

NY-03 was last held by famous Rep. Steve Israel.

Unfortunately, Tom Suozzi's seat is now Likely R as he pandered to Identity politics (Latino MS-13 members who hate Trump and carry guns) over the white Working class Of his district. If he had Adopted economic populism, his race could've been Lean R instead, however he didn't, therefore he is likely To lose in 2018 as Republicans benefit from the Economy and their tax bill.

lol he's 5000% safe, dude

Unless the climate suddenly gets very good for Republicans, and they get a good recruit (Andrew Raia, Elaine Phillips or Chad Lupinacci) this seat won't be anywhere near competitive.

Lol no, Safe D and with Mangano's trial going on, Suozzi's days of Nassau County Exec look better and better.

In a good environment for Republicans, it's certainly possible - the seat is marginal and was close in 2016.

.....so no he's not gonna lose.

When even LimoLiberal is mocking you for being too pessimistic for the Dems, you know you've failed.

I suppose he could lose in a Hillary midterm, but this? Nah.

What he said is exactly the same argument conservatives use to support guns, but now as soon as a Democrat says it, it's unthinkable?

Nah, he's not going to lose. Kind of a weird thing for him to say though.

I think Suozzi would be a good VP for Kamala Harris. He brings centrists to her campaign.

No and, this sounds terrible but it might have actually increased his chances of winning re-election.

As I wrote previously:
I haven't checked all the comments on the latest shooting, but one of the idiotic arguments against gun control is 'we need guns to prevent government tyranny.'

Is that argument allowed?  Because getting away from the abstract nonsense of this statement, what it really means at present is 'we need guns to kill Donald Trump or to kill members of Congress.'
