Why do you feel the need to lie about the poll itself?  The poll asked about BANNING handguns, that support is at its lowest level in 50 years, NOT Gun Control.

Not shocking, and you forgot some shootings such as the one in Oakland. Felons with assault weapons can end rather badly. Of course, the Democrats in Congress would rather not lose Congress again, so they're not going to do anything on this issue.
The problem is not that most Americans don't support gun control.  Pretty much every single poll shows they favor tighter restrictions, background checks, gun registration and pretty much every other thing the NRA fights against.  However, those who tend to base there vote only on the issue of guns tend to be overwhelmingly gun nuts.
