Tomorrow morning (Wednesday) Mechan will give the jury their instructions, I'm guessing at around 9:30...? That will take about an hour, and then they will begin deliberating.

A super quick verdict in a couple hours is probably unlikely due to the quantity of charges, the separate documents corroborating them, and the paperwork involved. Who knows, but probably a good bet there won't be a verdict until the afternoon at least, even if they all agree.

As far as I know they will deliberate every weekday. A verdict tomorrow or on Thursday is probably a really good sign for the prosecution. If it's going to be an acquittal across the board it would probably take a while to convince everybody of that.

If it's next week and there's still nothing, the chances of a hung jury, or even acquittal, starts rising.

Caveat that there are a myriad of cases in which the jury acquitted in a couple of hours or took weeks just to come back with a conviction.

It will be interesting to see if the jury send any questions to the judge (could be illuminating as to how they're leaning), or if at some point they tell the judge they're deadlocked (he'd probably tell them to keep deliberating for a bit).

34 charges, you would think they could get him on at least a couple.

Biden just recently crossed the 200 mark for judicial appointments, even exceeding Trump's rate. He's also announced more judicial nominees, including nominees for the 1st (ME) and 6th (TN) Circuits. It doesn't sound like Marsha Blackburn will be pleased, but I can't say that's a bad thing. It seems like she's acting as though she gets a veto over 6th Circuit nominees. The White House has been more than willing to work with home state Senators. They've managed to work with Ted Cruz, ffs. If you look at the red state nominees for the circuit courts, it's clear that the White House is not the issue. They've been able to get home state approval from TX, IN, KS, and more. The Tennessee Senators are clearly the issue.

This leaves only two circuit court judgeships without nominees: the 3rd (DE) and 4th (NC) Circuits. The 3rd Circuit opening was only just recently announced and technically doesn't open until January 15th. Tillis appears to be slow-walking the 4th though.

Does fundraising numbers still matter with regards to actual outcomes? Trump was very much outraised by Hillary 3:1 back in 2016 and we all know how it ended.
Yeah, they probably don't. You need big money to run an effective campaign but we are WAY past that. Both campaigns are gonna be flush with cash. Whoever has a bit more won't make a difference.

YouGov poll for Sky News:
Labour: 47 (+3)
Tories: 20 (-2)
Lib Dems: 9 (-)
Reform UK: 12 (-2)
Greens: 7 (+1)
SNP: 3 (-)

Plugging that into Electoral Calculus makes Ed Davey leader of the Opposition. We’ll see if any upcoming MRPs “confirm” that or not.

Interesting. Note the decline in the Reform vote % too

Kennedy because he would be good on the environment and also had the added benefit of believing in Democracy.
This. But I have to unequivocally state that I despise RFK jr. This is simply a case of someone being less terrible than one of the most terrible human beings on the planet.

"PM declares he is a Thatcherite"

His only notable economic proposal is maintaining and expanding already disproportional welfare payments to unproductive population at cost paid by taxpayers. Some Thatcherism, that one.

Given the most enduring legacy of Thatcherism was handing over state assets to private investors with the taxpayer eating the discount and handing over council homes to private buyers at significant discounts borne by local councils and ratepayers, I'd say it's rather fitting to her legacy of robbing peter to pay paul.

She obviously did. She wants the operation in Rafah to be done quickly. Also frankly, the longer this drags out, the more people will die. If this operation had been done quickly and the US didn't apply pressure, we would probably be in the post-war stage right now.

This is 100% accurate
