Maybe you should run for something smaller and regional and build up your reputation before running for a big national office again.

It's clear you could contribute and better to be known for that, than being 'that guy who's always running for something'.

I agree with Polnut. You should try you hand at regional politics.

Whenever I can vote for you, you can count on my vote somewhere.

Yes I was, (and I camapigned for you) but I listed the game's more formal officeholders. I was also to possibly be on a space commission but I think the Senare legislation changed that plan.

It is with great fanfare  that I announce my intention to run for Governor of the Northeast region.  I have never ran for that office in my career so this is a first for me. As Governor I intend to guide my region forward, try to have harmonious relations with the assembly even in disagreements, stand up for my region against the federal government if need be and encourage all of the regional officeholders to seek compromise so everyone can have a satisfying experience doing their job.

In the February 2015 Northeast election, vote Poirot for Gov!

Thank you kindly.

After announcing my candidacy yesterday in Princeton, New Jersey I took the overnight train from New York City to Montreal, Québec. This morning I am at the Montreal train station.

I have a long history with trains. I plyaed with a model train when I was a child, I investigated a famous murder on a train... but I'm getting off track here. This is not about me. The issue is investing in our railways. The New York - Montreal trip takes way too much time to be attractive to passengers. It's not normal between two big cities. The duration of the trip needs to be cut. Having a higher speed train is a good idea. If new train cars need to be built, that could be done at a plant in Plattsburgh, NY, giving jobs to our workers. I will also look at the connections that go to other regions and see with the other Governors if improvements could be made.

Let's improve our rail system. Choo choo!
All aboard with Poirot for Gov.

You have proved more than once that you have lots of creative ideas, are able to think critically and raise inconvenient questions when and where it matters. From one independent to another, endorsed.

This afternoon I will do door-to-door campaining in Burlington,Vermont. The cold doesn't stop me. We must face the elements. I wear a hat and try to walk faster if I can. I am supported in this operation by a wonderful group of volunteers who are accompanying me. I want to thank them publicly.

This evening I am making the official presentation of my campaign banner Poirot for Gov. I do this in an aptly named small town in New York state for someone running for the office of Governor. It is Gouverneur which is located northeast of Watertown. Here is the banner:

This other unique campaign banner was produced in-house. Banners are available in different sizes and to get one people just have to call the campaign office of their respective state. An advertising expert commented on the banner:" The dark blue is a remainder of the dark blue of the Northeast state flag. It is modern in style with pure lines and a research for symetry. It will please the eye of crossword puzzle lovers because you can read across or down."

I'm obviously supporting Governor Sawx, but I appreciate a pony-less campaign poster.

As a member of the Mideast Assembly, I would enjoy getting the chance to work with you on cross-regional issues. You have my support in your campaign.

Endorsed!  We could use a true independent as governor, as a tribute to the Northeast's independent streak.

I'm in Newport, Rhode Island to discuss ways to encourage volunteer work. We all have seen dedicated people volunteer to help their communities during the recent snowstorms in the region.

Volunteers for all kind of causes have a good heart and a great sense of community. They don't do it for rewards. I would still like to give them something to show gratitude. If elected Governor I would discuss with the assembly how to do this. I'm thinking maybe of a small tax credit to give them a little benefit to show appreciation for the work. Maybe it would be paperwork for small sums and difficult to manage and define eligibility. Another option is the Governor pushing companies to donate gift cards to orgainization with volunteers. Like food companies/supermarket could reward volunteers at food banks, or hardware store volunteers in cleaning up/ rescue operation.

At a breakfast event in Laconia in New Hampshire. I want to let citizens take the space they want in influencing the region. Do they like putting decisions in the hands of the elected officials or would they like to have a more direct and regular say in influencing the region. This could be done by trying to have more official referendums or non-binding ones to take the pulse of the region. It could also be a way to decide the more contentious issues facing government.

To better know what are expectations of citizens of their role in governing, in the beginning of my mandate I would mandate a polling firm to find out what the region prefers and try to go in that direction.
