Could I join it? If approved, the following statement will come into effect:
-----------------------------------------------------
I, peterthlee, on behalf of the Federal Socialist Republic of Western America and Aloha (FSRWAA), claim Honolulu County, HI as starting point and temporary seat of government.

A) Sorry, we're full up
B) I don't know how using AK and HI would work, so fairly sure we ignore them

Just waiting on Kingpo and Ted!

1) Past games I've played have used water contiguity for the oceans and Great Lakes, not sure if that's something you want to do.

2) Is there a time limit or do we wait until everyone takes there turn?

Thanks!

I only border eight counties. I catty corner two. If those count, then all the ones I border/catty corner except Okeechobee.
Standing by this.

Sarasota, De Soto, Hardee, Highlands, Orange, Osceola, Lake, Sumner, and Hernando?

Countering the move of the Iowan Empire, the People's Republic of the Great Lakes:

Minnesota:
Fillmore County
Houston County
Mower County
Freeborn County

Wisconsin:
Vernon County

Implementing this rule: "If two (or more) countries claim the same county, an additional die will be rolled after the fact."

Montgomery
Houston
Fort Bend
Austin
Fayette
Bastrop
Travis

All Texas

I'm guessing you meant Harris County, not Houston County?

The Vernon County die roll result:

Gass: 3
Jbrase: 6

Jbrase has won Vernon County. This result has seen the rest of Gass' turn (4 claims) be ruled impossible. As compensation, Gass may claim an additional 2 counties. (Not including any that Jbrase has claimed this turn*)

*The official ruling is that technically you can, but it will automatically be given lower consideration and thus you will waste another claim

Confused, do I know have 2, 6, or 7 claims left?

Looks like the freedom from commie Madison rule for midwestern folk comes down to Vernon.

Congrats on your victory! Would you be willing to trade Dodge County, WI for Sauk County, WI for the sake of cleanliness?

I normally would for the sake of aesthetics but Dodge is an important piece in my drive to the lake.

Understandable

Wait, only 2? Shouldn't I just get to use my original 5 elsewhere?

You get half of the amount of counties you lose. Since I made this rule up on the spot and you didn't know, I'll give you 4 (it's only fair)

Just so I understand this for future turns. You automatically lose the claim that there is a challenge over and then get only half of the remaining claims. So if this would have happened in the future I would lose the claim for Vernon County and then only get 2 because 4/2=2. Do I have that right?

You may claim half of the territories you lost thanks to the claim - so if you had claimed DuPage and Washington Counties, as well as Fillmore and Houston, you'd only get 1. Make sense?

Yes, makes sense. Thank you.

Again, you can extend counties in a chain. I've told you this multiple times, and it should be evident from the map. Not sure what isn't clear.

I think he want's you to just have him claim the 8 counties he borders. Not sure why he doesn't just say that, but yeah.

So Citrus, Hendry, Lee, Marion, Martin, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, and Volusia counties.
