Harry Reid meets with lawyers to discuss filling a senate vacancy in Massachusetts - fueling speculation Clinton will tap Warren as her VP.

I agree with Sanders. Kaine would be such an uninspiring selection.

Essentially, he canceled all of this because he falsely believed this was another ISIS attack. Turns out it wasn't; Manafort said he "emotionally reacted" to events; Pence is left waiting and no one has any idea of what is going on. Face it, Trump is emotionally unstable and totally unfit to be President.

If you really want to drive home Pence's anti-women, anti-LGBT stances, why not go with Warren? She would be a great attack dog against both of them on the stump and bring energy and excitement. With the Pence pick, he is so boring that she needs to be bold and contrast in the most pronounced way.

Also interesting that Warren's Tuesday speaking slot seems to have been pulled - from Gabriel Debenedetti:

New: the beginnings of the D convention sked.

lol, talk about a stretch. There was a horrible muslim terrorist attack in France. Again. Anybody with a heart and a brain will be bothered by it. I was bothered by it.

And he was upset that Pence was leaked before he got a chance to communicate with the rest of his short list. I'd be pissed too.

it was a french criminal, not some ISIS attack as he ran on the teevee to denounce - the tour de france continued on as normal today, why cancel an American VP announcement?

Your second point is probably true - but that's all on him and his inept campaign. But to use the attacks in France as a cover for delaying an announcement is awful. Just face it, he had reservations about Pence, wanted to pull out but couldn't save face.

When you screw up something like this it doesn't bode well for your ability to lead during the hard times

Please. He wasn't french. It was a terrorist attack by a Tunisian. Who knows yet Isis involvement.

This story dominated the media, at of respect to the victims and the enormous bloodshed, Trump did the right thing by delaying the roll out. You can float your reservations conspiracy theory all you want...

Just own up to the fact that his campaign is a dumpster fire...no direction, no clarity...he announces his selection on twitter and then goes MIA for a day; schedules his first stop with the new VP in NEW JERSEY??? And it's not a conspiracy theory when multiple news outlets are reporting that he was on the phone past midnight trying to back out of this pick. Face it cactus, his campaign is a freaking joke.

Castro is so goofy looking. He's about as limp wristed a nancy boy as I've ever seen.

Please let it be him. SNL would bring back Chris Kattan to play him in skits

typical trump supporter response

Clinton has basically used the "surround yourself with ugly friends at a club to make yourself look cute" tactic for Kaine.

It's either (in probable order):

1) What you've stated here.
2) Really setting the media up for a surprise or unexpected pick like Warren, etc.
3) They really are considering Vilsack

head fake...these leaks are not typical of the clinton campaign...i would be surprised if it actually turned out to be kaine or vilsack now because the clinton camp has been so tight lipped...i also think clinton realizes the importance of women and latinos to beat trump...thinking it's warren, perez or becerra.

Josh Earnest states POTUS recommends Vilsack and Perez from Cabinet; Kaine from outside cabinet - unprovoked at press conference.

Gotta think POTUS wouldn't step on anouncement so this doesn't look good for those three.

If anything, it would look bad if Clinton didn't pick one of the three that Obama recommended.

Nah - the press secretary wouldn't offer this up unprovoked. Head fake.

Is Clinton trying to burry the announcement by doing it on a Friday or Saturday.

Also, it's unlikely, but I would adore Crist being VP. A genuine dark horse.

No, trying to blunt any momentum Trump would get coming out of his convention.

I honestly can't see Kaine or Vilsack. Too many leaks - and it wouldn't look good to have POTUS and the candidate's husband come out for someone ahead of time - looks weak.

I think it's more progressive or from the Obama coalition. Warren, Perez, Becerra, Booker, Brown, etc...
