Frankly, I think he's worthless. The Democrat couldn't win Indiana with Jesus Christ as a running mate, so that's a moot point. It also means losing his Senate seat and most likely not taking it back for a long, long time unless Mitch Daniels loses, which looks likely but not quite a sure thing, and even in that case, we'd have a tough time holding the seat in 2010, when with Bayh it'd be basically safe. Not at all worth it.

Evan Bayh left office with an over 80% approval rating in Indiana but the thing is, Democrats are too stupid to realize that moderate centrist Democrats like Bayh are the key to winning the White House, and if he was at the front of the ticket, he could win Indiana and Ohio easily, thus securing a Dem WH victory

democrats are so delusional these days, not only do they believe 911 was a government conspiracy, they also believe Hillary or Obama can actually win the WH in 2008.  LOL!

I think he makes the most sense as running mate alongside Barack Obama for the following reasons:

1. Executive and legislative experience
2. National security experience
3. Moderating presence
4. Racial balance

Obama/Bayh could be the Democrats "Midwestern Ticket" much like how Clinton/Gore was the "Southern Ticket" in 1992.

As for the issue of his Senate seat, that doesn't bother me. The Democrats are going to pick up more seats in the Senate so loosing one not that big of a deal.

A possible Bayh Vice-Presidency, which might be a convenient stepping stone to the Presidency? Smiley

I dont know if he has the power by name or charisma to really ad much to a ticket. Anything states his views could add, his personality does not.

Adds nothing. Wouldn't even come close to delivering Indiana. Why risk losing his safe senate seat?
