Way to throw your party under the bus, even after the agreement that Sensei would be the only AUB candidate.

I never agreed to that. What party are you, anyway?

Guess you're right.

This is the crappiest ballot Atlasia has ever had.

I don't think you were here for the Colin vs. me vs. GPorter election last October?

Yes there is. Ernest's regulations remain in force as an Executive Order.

Besides, the current setup encourages uninformed ballots such as Franzl's and Polnut's here (It happened last time around too) which effectively distort the result, potentially quite massively.
Obviously, it's impossible to know how many such voters would have taken a closer look at the Elections Board if that tantalizing - and utterly misleading, given the way votes are counted - Afleitch / Write In wasn't printed on the ballot, but should the election be close, it might be worth a lawsuit.
If only to get the members of the SC to show up in Atlasia again. Grin

I respectfully ask that the error be corrected on the General Election Ballot. I think a point can be made for not editing the already released Absentee Ballot.

I don't think you really have a case. Afleitch failed to receive a running mate by the deadline, so even if he did find a running mate, it would still be on the ballot as Afleitch/Write-in:______

I don't think you understood a word of what I said.

Afleitch failed to find a running mate by the deadline (he actually HAS FOUND ONE by now), and therefore has no place in any way or form whatsoever on a list of DECLARED TICKETS.

I thought you meant the error was that his running mate wasn't listed, not that he was listed at all.

Too late. The Spade case means you can't pull that trick.

Okay, didn't know that. There's still more than one way to skin a cat...

Basically, once the election starts, you can't withdraw. Also, if you're a declared candidate, you can't not accept votes.

I've already accepted your analysis. However, as I said, there is more than one way to skin a cat. If you'll check the voting booth, you'll see what I mean.

Excellent job, both of you.

I hope the Senate calls for a revote of some kind.

And conveniently, we are recruiting new members right now, so my chances will be better in the revote. Cheesy

After much thought, I hae decided to run for Senate. If a superior candidate were to enter, however, I will withdraw.

DWTL, BaconKing, and Al are assured re-election. That leaves it as a contest between you, me, and Lief for the other two seats.

Why do I have a suspicion that Andy Jackson might be the superior candidate in this equation?

There is another candidate who we have been discussing to run, though he doesn't seem likely at this point. I'm mainly concerned about Andy because I had promised him my vote if he ran, and I do not want to be an Indian giver. Although I doubt he will run if he didn't declare by now.

I have an idea of how it'll go.

I'm not expecting a win, though I think I have a good chance. Even assuming Lief, you, and me have equal odds, I have a 66.7% chance of winning a senate seat. Additionally, while our party will be split two ways in first preferences, yours will be split three ways, meaning my odds might be even higher.

I will be accepting write-ins for my all inclusive, loving Senate campaign which is totally relying on write-ins!

This race just got a whole lot more interesting. Is the RPP hoping to pull a DA and elect three members? Up from none? That would be incredibly impressive to say the least.

It's certainly not probable, but it's a possibility.

Like I've said numerous types, the JCP has been lucky. We don't monopolize anything.

In October 08, we were lucky Mr. Moderate dropped out at the last minute.

In Feb 09, we were lucky the AndrewCT/Duke ticket never materialized.

In June 09, well... we ran a pretty good campaign. But even then, we were lucky that invalidated votes were disproportionately PiT votes.

In October 09, we were lucky the Jedi/Franzl ticket fell apart.

Overall, June was definitely our greatest achievement. For once, the victor wasn't a friggin' moderate. For once, it wasn't a friggin' unity ticket, which, even though I was elected on one, are kind of lame.

Yeah, but any special senate election is basically written off as a JCP gain.
