I'm not sure which is funnier; seeing seats like MS-02, HI-02 and DE-AL going/staying Republican, or that the epicenter of the explosion is somewhere in the Gulf.  Are they suggesting that the BP spill is responsible for the GOP wave or something?

I think he's being metaphorical here.  As in "This is what basically happened" rather than 'Here are the precise electoral results"  This video was created weeks before the elections.

This is not basically what happenned. It's here what I hope will happen. There are dozens of races here that are incorrectly given to the GOP. It's nothing more than  a GOP wet dream.
