The four past years have been a stormy set. Following the election of the first African-American president, many Southern states considered a second secession. However, the one instance that bordered on even being close to secession was quickly put down by outgoing President Cleveland. President Douglass has had a hectic term. His decision to use federal forces to uphold a number of post-Civil War constitutional amendments in the South was met with controversy. As well, his system of national public education was opposed by many in both parties. Meanwhile, Douglass' monetary policies rubbed a number of Westerners the wrong way, as well as his signing of the McKinley Tariff Act in 1890 which resulted in record Republican congressional losses. Nevertheless, there are three candidates who have stepped forward, ready to campaign as the Republican nominee in 1892. Two are cabinet members, and the third is William McKinley who, despite himself not getting re-elected to the House is still a rising star and was elected Ohio Governor in 1891. Whom do you choose?

McKinley is the only candidate who would make me defect from voting Democrat.

So him.

Also, FYI, McKinley didn't like Imperialism, he just made those choices to try and placate his party.

Yeah, something around something like 8, EST. I'd like to close it sooner and just get onto the G.E., debating, though I'm pretty sure the results won't change. Sadly, Harrison, a fairly mediocre president, is fated to win the nomination. Sad
