More detailed numbers for Austria from our Statistics Department:

Q1, 2012 total employed (incl. self-employed): 4.119.200 (up from 4.071.800, +1.2%)

Q1, 2012 total employed (excl. self-employed): 3.563.700 (up from 3.500.800, +1.8%)

Q1, 2012 total self-employed: 555.500 (down from 571.000, -2.7%)

So, it seems that Eurostat is using the "total employed (excl. self-employed)" measure for all countries.

71.4% of all Austrian between 15-64 were employed in Q1, which is up from 71.1% a year ago. 76.3% of men and 66.6% of women.

About 26% were working part-time.

There have been 184.400 unemployed in Q1, down from 194.200 in Q1, 2011.

The unemployment rate declined from 4.6% to 4.3% in Q1, 2012. 4.0% of men and 4.6% of women were unemployed.

Unemployment among people with Austrian citizenship was 3.7%, while foreigners had a 8.9% UE rate.

Youth (15-24) unemployment was 8.9%, while Senior (55-64) UE was 3.0%

Also, there were 72.600 vacant jobs in Austria in Q1.
