Well. It's most obvious that Scandinavian conservative is Democrat in USA!

Yep, all Scandinavians are Democrats, there would be very few Republicans here.

-second bvery skewed in how they ask the questions.  I don't support the LCV, but am pro-environment, for an example.

The interesting thing about your results and mine is that it suggests Clark is nearly the most liberal candidate running.  I'm waiting for someone to get the word out on that.

Even more interesting, or should I say scary, is your high score on LaRouche... Wink

I just realised that I  probably got Kucinich first over other Democrats, because I agree with him on abortion issue. I have understood that he's pro LIFE. Am I right?

That would probably be correct.

He is pro-life? I thought he was a liberal maniac?

I see you're from Iowa.  Just out of curiosity, who are you supporting in the caucus on Monday...? ...if you don't mind my asking.  If you do, please take no offense to my question.

He has already said that he most likely will vote Dean, but is considering Kerry, if I'm not mistaken. If I am, no offense, Hughento, just trying to save you some time... Wink

A lot of these polls seem to indicate that Clark is more to the left than most people thought (since he scores so low on all the Republicans results) and that Kerry is more to the right, since he does relatively well on their scores. Any thoughts?

Well. I have the say that there is very few pro-life in Finnish National Coaliton Party. It's pretty liberal on social issues. Home, religion and Fatherland were once it's mainvalues, but nowadays it's more Libertarian party.

We have small Christian Democratic Party in Finland. It's conservative on social issues, but pretty liberal in economy.

GWBFan. I hope that you did'n get angry with my statement that your post was misleading. But honestly. It was. Kosovo operation was  essential and it's no doubt that Milosevic is very big war criminal. But well you did not write it yourself.

Actually, I agreed with taking Milosevic out.  I didn't write the article, as you pointed out.  I myself believe the U.S. has a *right* to take out any dictator possible if it means saving lives in the long run.

But the author of this article has a wonderful point.  If you supported Kosovo, which posed absolutely NO THREAT to us, then there's no way you canNOT support Iraq, which at the very least posed some threat to us.  Kosovo was a battle in favor of human rights; Iraq is as well.

What happened to the Democrats?  They used to be the party of human rights, which would make them highly supportive of this war.  The only reason they hate this war is b/c it isn't a liberal Democrat masterminding it.

Well, a lot of people had Bosnia in mind, when it came to Kosovo. We knew what Milosevic could do.

You have to remember that for Europeans, Yugoslavia is the back yard. It's like Cuba or Grenada for you, we're naturally more supportive of action being taken there. Also, there is still the case of what reason is given for action. The Kosovo War, I believe, was started due to human rights, the Iraq War wasn't. And I think you're missing the point of most non-Americans; we naturally get more suspicious of wars fought for national interests, rather than humanitarian concerns.

In your backyard... I can understand that.

The reason for war? Hm, interesting.

But at the end of the day, justice has been served.  Saddam has been taken out, his people will no longer be tortured and murdered by this evil dictator any longer.

Do the ends not justify the means?

Sometimes they do, but it should have been brought forward from the beginning. I do think that the Iraq War was, overall, a good thing. (We are a few Swedes with that opinion...) But I feel that reasons are important. I think that the real reason for the Iraq War was 1) Bush wanted to take out Saddam, and he had a good excuse and 2) Bush wasn't willing to take chances in the wake on 9/11.

You know what's wierd?  I wasn't even trying and I got 100% Bush.  I thought that was a little strange, I was answering the questions honestly.  The closest Democrat to myself is Liebermann.  No supprise there.

Soulty,

You don't have to share this if you don't want to, but since you got 100% Bush, could you list each of the Dem candidates so we can see how well Bush matches up with each of the Dems?

I'll do it if I can.

I tried guys, but I can't reproduce the same result and they didn't send it to me in my e-mail.  i had to have picked all of the issues perfectly (not hard) and all of the "importance" perfectly (a much harder feat, because that can swing depending on what is in the news and my mood).  All I can tell you is that Liebermann is closest and Gepardt is second, With Kerry near there.  I had 100% Bush and 36% Liebermann (who I was closest to).  Do there is a massive divide between the parties in this election.

That depends on who is doing the test. Leip got Bush and Dean fairly close to each other.

I agree that these things are hard, I usually just do them without thinking too much. I still usually get rather similar results, though.

Not that they are hard, it is just that it is hard to reproduce the exact same results on osme of these things, because my moods and focuses can shift.  I put down the exact same results, but I had different emphasis because the news is different from what it was 2 days ago and because recent disscussions I have had have had different focuses.

Yeah, well that's what I meant... Smiley

I would love to create one of these - won't likely have the time, however.  You can tell my political independence  from the selectsmart site:

Bush, Dean, Libertarian, and Green were between 46% and 54%.  nobody above 54%.

Dave, I can tell that you were stamped from a different mold from the rest of us.  You are truely an individual.

Hey! I got the exact same result for Democratic Party and Republican Party on that matchmaker poll on another thread. I want to be an individual too! Smiley
