Chris Christie would be an amusing choice.

If not him than some other young Governor who isn't Palinesque.

Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Nikki Haley

I could be wrong, but Walker strikes me as the type whose running to be on top of the ticket and only on top. I have a very hard time seeing him manage from a support role.

John Kasich is an elder statesman from a swing state without current Washington baggage.
Condoleeza Rice is relatively popular, and would demonstrate the diversity of the ticket. Although it would double down on foreign policy hawkishness.
Rick Snyder helps in the Midwest, and has solid business experience.
Bill Haslam has solid executive experience, and doesn't seem controversial.
Cathy Mcmorris-Rodgers can help Rubio with the US House.
Rob Portman comes from a swing state, and has experience on economic issues.
If Carly Fiorina does well in the primaries, she has nice business experience.
Jon Huntsman has a solid resume, and bipartisan credentials.
Tim Pawlenty can be a campaign surrogate in the Midwest.
John Thune's a tall white guy, who probably won't say anything stupid.

Yeah, Kasich sounds good. Maybe even Charlie Baker.

All three are pro-choice. I don't know that it's the death knell for a VP, but selecting any of them would put Rubio on shaky ground.
