His majority is very low (4K) and was going the wrong way in 2017/2019 but doing that would basically be mad; he is a relatively active constituency MP and holds a job in a role (NI office) where you really need ministers even during election period.

A landslide sounds like a pretty horrible way to die, not that there's a good way to die. RIP to the victims, of which there are apparently now about 670.

Would it be fair to say that if you had been around in 1948, you would have been constantly declaring that Thomas Dewey was all but certain to be elected President that year?

Honestly probably. I'm just a pessimist by nature.

If he can get his approvals to average 45% or better, I’ll start getting nervous. He probably really needs to be north of 47%, but I’ll give him 45.

He’s going nowhere with JA stuck in the mid to upper 30s.

Probably very little. I'm sure we'll all hear about the massive protests outside the DNC but not the RNC, though.

I might or might not watch the Presidential/Vice-Presidential speeches. I'll probably also tune into the occasional speech from a random Senator or Governor at the RNC just to observe the awkward body language and gritted teeth.

Or like a thing at all? Is this one of those US only things?

Pretty much all of the gas stations within a three mile radius from me have this now...as did every one I entered in Chicago.

Lmao in most of the world u don't even prepay for gas. My local bank tellers don't even have glass separators! Just the little plastic screens from covid they haven't bothered to throw out yet.

To which many might have replied, that was then and this is now.

Also, "Eat Out to Help Out" was criticised at the time and is felt to have slightly increased the spread of Covid.
