I also wonder what a Teachout/Hochul voter is like if such a thing even exists (it'd be female I suppose).

Low information conservative (pro-gun/anti-gay) Democrats?

aka confused old ladies.

anyway, I've got my hopes up for a LBJ vs. McCarthy type result for Gov in a super low turnout race, which Cuomo has only aided and abetted by refusing to try and saving his $ for the off-chance prez run (if such a thing is legal, then again, everything is these days) and a Wu win.  sure to be dashed by an 80-20 Cuomo win and a 2:1 Hochul win of course, which I'll get over within a drinking session.

Will you vote? Are you a registered Democrat these days?

yes and yes

Atlas Forum should do a drinking game for the NY primary. Every time Teachout wins a county, take a shot.

That's a great game if you don't want to get drunk.  Teachout's chances to win counties are overrated.

Tompkins might make us proud

or even Quinnipiac

How Cuomo's father managed to lose 20 years ago???

George Pataki promised that he'd start executing people again, and Cuomo was running for a fourth term.

and 1994 was 1994. it was still an upset.

If Teachout is elected how does she get treated by the wacky State Senate?

not well.  Silver would also view her as his inferior.  but this is all fantasy.

I can echo the abysmal turnout.  despite voting at what is typically a high-volume hour (5pm) I was the only one there.  one guy may have walked in as I was walking out.

So Teachout is around 30% with Erie and Westchester piling in, shouldn't that be her WORST area?

we don't really know.  I guess you could say Erie "should be" Wu's worst area.

Cuomo is now under 60% with his margin continuing to shrink? Is this really happening?

nothing means much until we now what NYC and LI did.  Zephyr winning upstate counties is cute but the numbers are so low it's but an adornment.

Okay something just happened and now Cuomo leads 63-33 again?

I can't figure out where it happened.  a lesson against reacting moment-to-moment with these things.

Why is Teachout doing so much better upstate?  I don't understand it.  Perhaps, it's just how racial and transactional NYC politics tends to be.  If Teachout had unions to do GOTV and some black and Hispanic support, this might be interesting.  Or maybe upstate is boring enough that people have time to read the paper and find out how terrible Cuomo is.

those counties may lack a functioning Dem machine so only nerds who cared showed up to vote.  the numbers are very low.

if I were the last of the few who always ask
would you still be the same person that I knew
and if it's for me, another boring story
I swear I'll act enthused

How many high-profile endorsements will Hawkins get for the general election now? Will Teachout and Wu directly endorse him?

few / no

de Blasio has been a Dem insider for a few decades now.  the lefty-insurgent thing was a marketing tool as the opening was to run to the left of Quinn.  this should've been obvious to anybody paying attention.  it's amazing how teary-eyed progressive Dems can fall victim to the same hoax again and again.

Why don't you capitalize the beginnings of your sentences?  Clearly you know the shift key exists, yet you seem unwilling to use it when starting a new sentence.

it shouldn't be a barrier to communication. beyond that, there's no such thing as a "correct" way to use language.

I'm kind of surprised everyone thinks that NYC Dems are all progressives rather than minorities and the working class.

also well-to-do white Bloomberg-Giuliani voters who pat themselves on the back for supporting gay marriage and legal abortion.

eh I can't see him doing much more than County Exec, personally.

with the state of the NY GOP bench, any two-term Republican exec of a major county qualifies as an "up and comer".

Astronino's campaign is calling registered Democrats on Long Island with Romney.   I just got a robocall from Mitt Romney urging me to vote for Astronino.......

sure to be really effective.  I giggled pretty hard when I saw Mangano's ad for Cuomo on News12.  such a whore.
