I know we're now on mid-turn end mode, but I'd like to say it for the future: ignoring one's official diplomatic messages is not cool, bro.

I left out a few details for later, but that's the mid-turn update. Some players may have some explaining to do...

You all have until Friday to finish this one up, good luck.

A nationalist/imperialist flare up in the Balkans combined with cascading alliance chains is creating a general European war. Nobody could have predicted this.

And, just as a reminder, this all started the VERY FIRST TURN we were allowed to declare war.

I honestly find this current game much more interesting than the first balance of power Smiley

Yes, well, there was a reason I placed a ban on war on the first couple of turns. I did intend to keep it around for longer, but since some players complained... anyway, Bismarck is proven right once again.

I would hate to see this escalating into a general war so soon. Way to early and, frankly speaking, all major players are overstretched.

Yes, well, I strongly urge players to be a bit more conscious of escalating aggression and covert operations, xD

If it ends in war it ends in war. If players want to sit at a conference and talk things through, I'll be happy to open a thread.

Let the record show the Ottoman Empire proposed it twice and only Germany responded.

Just want to say one thing for the record, without pointing fingers. We all are a bunch of crooks, but there's a rule in diplomatic talk not to be a blantant liar when agreeing upon something. Speaking frankly, it makes it utterly impossible for have any exchange with such side in the future.

Just saying some rules in diplomatic conduct should be observed for mutual benefit, not because of "honor" but because of practicality.

We were having a deal of not trying to mess with each other then:
- revolts suddenly happened in Tunisia.
-Someone is funding Spain against me.

Do you really wish I was going to let you  me? Smiley

No more official PM from me this turn, unless I have to respond to another player.

I got delayed by a series of tests in my university. I'll handle outstanding PM's and so on later, and then decide whether we go forward with a special round of peace talks (with other events frozen) or prolong the turn a couple more days.

Been quite busy as well so both options sound solid to me

So is the turn still going or is possibly going to be reopened or what? I really don't like this limbo; frankly, the constant post-deadline dead periods with no word about what's going on make it hard to stay excited about this game.

Yes, well, sort of hard to update when I'm forced to study for four-five tests. The turn is still on unless noted otherwise, I will make a few decisions and give a few answers as soon as I can.

Okay, there's a small but crucial BBC update, plus all PM's (I think) answered or factored in. Next turn we will have the Paris Peace Conference, fully simulated on its own thread.

So you have until Thursday afternoon to send any remaining moves or solve outstanding negotiations, so I can post the end of turn and move into late 1929.

I assume there's no need for a separate thread on Hong Kong, just official PMs?

Well, if both China and the UK want to go for a full formal conference, we can certainly host one as well next turn.

I think we should end this turn. Something poops out every day, and I think the GM should have time to process it without any new PMs/developments.

Aye, turn closed. I'll be working on the results.

Right, wars updated and end of turn post done. Player crisis will be up during Monday, plus a thread on the Balkan peace conference and the China-UK peace conference.

Why is the Pope picking on the Sultan? Doesn't like his paintings or something?
