Last I checked however, we are not the UK. The UK also has a King; shall we be like them in that regard too?
MTG was wrong for stirring the pot, Crockett was wrong for equally immature response. Both should be punished. What is the point of having standards, rules, or any guidelines if they are not going to be followed? Saying both are wrong doesn't make you a bad person or somehow make you a supporter of MTG. It's okay to sometimes drop partisan blinders and say someone you like is wrong.
1. The UK having a King is completely irrelevant to what I said.
2. I mentioned that other countries besides the UK have even worse things happen in their parliament.
3. The Democrats' strategy of "going high" while Republicans "go low" is a tired and weak strategy based on a false sense of "decorum".
4. This was just a one time incident, Rep. Crockett had enough and was pointing out Republican hypocrisy. She did nothing wrong. You can feel however you want but it doesn't matter.
1. You made a comparison to other countries' ways of doing things and suggest we follow in their lead. I drew a comparison to a difference. The point being that comparing Parliament and other countries' legislative houses are different than ours and just because they do things a certain way, doesn't mean we should. Other countries do a lot of things differently, why follow in their lead only in this ugly way?
2. See point one.
3. Look, I get the raging seething anger on the far left. You guys are looking for a fight and so are the far right. Most people don't want a civil war or for dialog to devolve further, however. Your view is on the fringe.
4. Whether it happens one time, or one hundred, it is still wrong. You ignored the point - why are there even guidelines for conduct if they are not going to be followed? My guess is you don't support the guidelines being in place, for people you support anyway. And no no, your feelings don't matter. You are not the arbiter of what is right and wrong. By Congressional rules and civilized rules of conduct,
BOTH were wrong. Take off the partisan or "YAS KWEEEN" blinders. I get you like Crockett, I get you hate MTG. I don't like either. But you can say "I like this person, but they were wrong." I know you're afraid of being attacked by your peers as a traitor, but it's not hard to take a moral stand. It's not a binary choice. Unconditional support of a person is being in a cult of that person.
