If Trump wins and does a good job in his second term then I will gladly support him if he wants a third term. There might be a way around the 22nd Amendment by nominating a puppet Republican nominee and putting Trump in as VP and market the ticket as Trump's 3rd term. Then if they win, the President resigns, and Trump takes power. This would likely have to go to court because the 22nd Amendment talks about being "elected" specifically but not necessarily the office itself.

That violates everything our country stands for. No.

This is useful knowledge but does not tell anything about the distribution across wealth percentiles by itself. The stock market performance will impact the average and the median extremely differently, so I don't want to draw conclusions from that average, although it is a reasonable explanation that people spent down excess savings.

I think the better evidence was actually presented by The Economist, which disaggregates the jobs data and shows the jobs losses at established firms as still net negative since COVID. Most people prefer the benefits and pay of an established business over a start-up and are struggling to find so called good employment in a number of white collar industries.

I won't say that is a certain conclusion - because preferences could just shift away from big corporate roles too - but that never quite matched what we see in headlines with involuntary job cuts. DFB similarly posted that public perception of job availability is quite poor this year after the hot job market of 2021-22.

Last I checked however, we are not the UK. The UK also has a King; shall we be like them in that regard too?

MTG was wrong for stirring the pot, Crockett was wrong for equally immature response. Both should be punished. What is the point of having standards, rules, or any guidelines if they are not going to be followed? Saying both are wrong doesn't make you a bad person or somehow make you a supporter of MTG. It's okay to sometimes drop partisan blinders and say someone you like is wrong.
1. The UK having a King is completely irrelevant to what I said.

2. I mentioned that other countries besides the UK have even worse things happen in their parliament.

3. The Democrats' strategy of "going high" while Republicans "go low" is a tired and weak strategy based on a false sense of "decorum".

4. This was just a one time incident, Rep. Crockett had enough and was pointing out Republican hypocrisy. She did nothing wrong. You can feel however you want but it doesn't matter.

1. You made a comparison to other countries' ways of doing things and suggest we follow in their lead. I drew a comparison to a difference. The point being that comparing Parliament and other countries' legislative houses are different than ours and just because they do things a certain way, doesn't mean we should. Other countries do a lot of things differently, why follow in their lead only in this ugly way?

2. See point one.

3. Look, I get the raging seething anger on the far left. You guys are looking for a fight and so are the far right. Most people don't want a civil war or for dialog to devolve further, however. Your view is on the fringe.

4. Whether it happens one time, or one hundred, it is still wrong. You ignored the point - why are there even guidelines for conduct if they are not going to be followed? My guess is you don't support the guidelines being in place, for people you support anyway. And no no, your feelings don't matter. You are not the arbiter of what is right and wrong. By Congressional rules and civilized rules of conduct, BOTH were wrong. Take off the partisan or "YAS KWEEEN" blinders. I get you like Crockett, I get you hate MTG. I don't like either. But you can say "I like this person, but they were wrong." I know you're afraid of being attacked by your peers as a traitor, but it's not hard to take a moral stand. It's not a binary choice. Unconditional support of a person is being in a cult of that person.

My thoughts too. I had considered Franken, but Wellstone has his perks without the negatives.

I am putting this topic here, as the movie was apparently bankrolled by Trump donor Dan Snyder, in order to help Trump in the election.  Instead, it shows him in a buffoonish light and includes a scene which uses Ivana's original claim (since retracted) that he raped her.

The Apprentice will be shown at the Cannes film festival - no idea when it will be released in the US.

Misleading title

The film never had the intention to help his chances.

Maybe that donor is that dumb to actually believe this would be a good portrayal, but that was never the intention of the film.

Red avatars need to get real. Biden has been down in almost every poll lately, and is down worse in swing states. You can't just junk every poll and claim they are all poor outfits. Biden is very obviously down as evidenced by a wide array of polls and is on track to lose not only the EC but the popular vote as well.

He has not lead in the 538 aggregate once nor has he led in the RCP tracker since last OCTOBER. And yes RCP is very partisan but the fact remains he is behind. They were right leaning in 2020 too but still showed a consistent Biden lead.

Midterm performances and special election results are not the same as a presidential election, stop using that as a retort to Biden's poor polling.

Weren’t you fairly optimistic on Biden’s chances a month ago?

Biden narrowly. The fundamentals are starting to take shape. The economy is not in a bad place, inflation isn't blowing up, and Trump's legal troubles are becoming highly publicized.

Biden despite Maga planting seeds of doubt and it's overkill in the media and on this forum especially since no votes been counted. I am not talking but only certain blue avatar like they're gonna get money if Trump wina

I have doubts but it's with Harris not Biden that's why there will a D primary in 28 not a fake one with Biden and Hillary
