Quinn's secret weapon is Paul Vallas, who connects with blue collar voters. And did very well in collar counties in suburban Cook against Blago. He will go after Rauner's deceptive business dealings especially dealing with nursing home care. Quinn just like Crist care about due to being seniors themselves. Also, Rauner said, being a businessman, reducing min wage by 1.00.

I have a hard time seeing Quinn losing when Dems have a veto proof maj in state legislature.

Rauner isn't Sandoval, but more like Christie. He is a businessman who wants a flat tax instead of a fair tax and against birth control for women. Quinn wants a fair tax.

Little Egypt liked Blago cause he kept the flat tax like is. Unlike Burris, who was gonna increase taxes.

As badly as I hope for a Republican victory in Illinois, I just get that sinking feeling that the Quinn might just barely hold on, like Obama did in 2012.
It's very possible, but he also barely held on in 2010.  He's much weaker and less popular now than he was four years ago, and while the race is by no means a slam dunk for any Republican, I could see any of the four GOP candidates beating him.

Vallas who is the Lt Gov nominee, was praised by Dillard on doing a good job on CPS school system. Unlike Rauner, who wants state money not going to CPS, but parochial and charter schools.

The GOP wave is gonna net 5 new senate seats and isn't gonna be as big this year. 2010 was about corrupt Wallstreet and Ginnoulius poor banking Scandle. With a better senate candidate, Durbin, and House pickup in IL 13, although Dems preferred Madigan, the turnout won't be as low as the primary for Quinn..

Kirk Dillard was the Mark Kirk of 2010. He would have won Suburban Cook and Dupage. Just like the Dems was cheated out of a runoff concerning Dan Hynes of 2010, this time the GOP was cheated and sunk their chances. Two candidate open primary needed (Ca style).

I'm pretty sure Mark Kirk was the Mark Kirk of 2010.

I was referring to himself making a big deal about Ginnoulius non military service. He will have to compete with either Quigley or Duckworth, who just like they are committed to Veteran affairs. Not active duty personnel.

Since he is now paralyzed.

Yeah, but Blago's flat tax initiative, or not raising the income tax, earned him a lot of counties and he won by 10 pts. Quinn raised taxes. Quinn will compromise with the GOP in order to get his min wage hike. All he has to do, is do better in the collared counties around suburban Cook to win by 3.

Quinn had Sheila Simon on ticket. She helped in the prison areas in Little Egypt. Her dad, Paul Simon was from Carbondale. Vallas was picked solely on helping out in Suburban Cook not downstate.

Didn't Quinn outperform Obama in parts of deep-South Illinois?  I think there was even a county(Madison, I think?) that Quinn carried that Obama didn't in 2012.

Not a very good idea to compare a primary with a general election.

Quinn isn't going to win Madison County in November.

Although with a better nominee, Madigan would have done better in the College downstate areas, like Simon helped out Quinn, like Champaign.

The only counties in which Dems do well in are like in Champaign, Carbondale and to some extent Decataur or DeKalb. The Cook Suburbs are the bell weather of this election. The silver lining is that Madigan would have won the college counties more or less.

Term limits was an issue for him to win over GOP primary voters. Voters are more obsessed with Mike Madigan and the state legislature having term limits due to its low approval.

Rauner doesn't want to raise the min wage. And he had a hard time winning the voters that were attracted to Dillard. Being a multimillionaire being against unions isn't such a good idea. The Rauner surge is over. He is leading between 4-7 pts, the same margin Quinn came back from against Brady.
