I've always thought Rameau, Haendel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Pergolese (and then Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Liszt, Dvorak, Grieg, Rachmaninonv after them) were the real great ones.
Bach is a little... boring, I think.
