Seeing no objection, the amendment has been adopted.

No sh**t, you are the sponsor of the amendment, aren't you? Tongue

I think five ranks is too much. Three is more than enough. Suppress Companion and Member and I'll support it.

This word suppress I am seeing more and more lately, but I don't care for it very much. Wouldn't "remove" or "strike" be more appropriate and fitting for this. Suppress tends to indicate a temporary holding of something down, which implies it may spring back up. That isn't how legislation works. Well unless you have a delayed implementation scheme going on but that wouldn't serve a purpose here, I don't think. Its a more money thing.

A motion to table has been filed by Senator Simfan, but I haven't seen a second anyway at this time.

What is the next order of business on this bill?

Obviously I just ripped the name off the IRL award so I'm more than open to changing to something else.

Oakvale do you still wnat the amendment?

A motion to table has been filled, but has not been seconding.

The sponsor has motioned to withdraw the legislation. Senators have 72 hours to assume sponsorship or the bill is pulled from the floor.

The German has been accepted as the new sponsor of the bill. Does he wish to alter the previous sponsor's judgment on Amendment 52:28?

I must have missed that. Sorry about that.

But still, so what?

Only the main sponsor can offer amendments that don't need sponsor feedback (unless he has a split personality or something).

There is practically no procedural relevance rendered unto co-sponsors.

We have a slightly confusing situation here because of the end of the Senate and Simfan's departure. Since he offered an amendment and it was declared friendly, and thus was on the way to passage once the 24 hours on the objection period expired, the only way to prevent that would have been withdrawal or an objection. I don't see an objection, but Simfan's acceptance of Franzl's "substitute" as friendly (a meaningless judgement taking litterally since his isn't the bill's primary sponsor) could be interpreted as a desire to withdraw his and replace it with the substitute, upon further clarification that is. However, Simfan was no longer Senator when he posted that.

Therefore, Simfan's previous amendment has been passed, though I can't officially declare it as such. The best path forward would be to have that made official and then alter Franzl's amendment as necessary so as to reflect a change from the current text based off Simfan's amended version, as opposed to the previous "current" text (the text as it stood when Franzl wrote his prior to Simfan's passing). Is such an alteration required?

I am not blind, nor am I stupid. I want a response to the below item if possible, from the sponsor or perhaps one of his low paid secretaries. Or maybe even a distant relative at this rate.

I won't hold up the bill over this, but in retrospect I think the acronyms OSS and OSG work better. Not a big deal. Tongue

Are you sure about OSS, that was the acronym for the WW2 era predecessor to the CIA, The Office of Strategic Services.
