What's a member of the HAEV called? We need a better name. Let's call it the Electoral Commission or something.

To change the name, we'd have to change the statute. If you'd like, get someone to sponsor a bill for you; it's not like the Senate is too busy right now Tongue

The official title, though, for a member of HAEV is presumably "Member of the High Authority for Ethics in Voting" which does sound kinda cool.

I think the head of the HAEV should be called the High Inquisitor, like Dolores Umbridge. lol Wink

Well, I am inclined to take this approach:

A zombie registers to vote, they do not participate in the function of the game at all (by this, I mean they don't post in either boards), they may show up to vote once and then disappear. These Zombies should be de-registered without question. This also applies to zombies that never vote at all, and their only post in there registration.

Other zombies will register in Atlasia, and only participate in elections. I believe we should me more lenient to these members. We could simply question them and see what they have to say.

Also, I do not consider a "troll" and a "zombie" the same thing. A troll might be a zombie, but not always.

I ask your opinion of my personal assessment of what "zombies" are.

Unfortunately I take issue with a great deal of your list.
The facts are the facts. These people contribute nothing yet have the same vote as you and I.

Okay I didn't really want to do this because there's the possibility something concerning zombies could come before the court because of HAEV and all that nonsense, but taking a liberal interpretation of that basically means I can't comment on anything, so let me just explain why I think alot of this list is ridiculous.

In our statute, we deal with activity requirements for voting in elections with this language:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Now, it's actually 25 now because of a bill from Hashemite that I supported, but stay with me. When it says "who have posted at least 15 times" it is referring to the Atlas forum at-large. These are the sort of activity requirements that we deal with. The same is upheld in various office-holding rules (I believe it's like 200 or something to be a Senator now?) for post counts, the posts in the at-large forum.

Here are the three criteria for how I judge (personally, not officially) a "zombie" with some exceptions.

Someone who doesn't post on the forum at-large or exclusively posts in Atlasia (or it seems like they were recruited for the sole purpose of participating in Atlasia).

Someone who is not an established member of Atlasia (meaning, someone you can point out in a crowd of Atlas members).

Someone who doesn't post intelligently, causes trouble, etc.

People like BRTD, Smash, phknrocket1k, Boris, CultureKing, Eraser, Gustaf, Torie (Seriously? Torie is a zombie to you?), Ronnie, Dead0man, etc, do not qualify in my humble opinion. They have a long history in Atlasia, the Atlas forum in general for the most part, are well established members, post often on the Atlas forum at large, and many of the people on your list are former office-holders for heaven's sake.

Not longer than earlier this year, CultureKing was my Governor! Torie was once my Senator for two terms! Obviously these are not exemptions on their own, but they are, in combination with other factors, evidence that they are not zombies. They don't not post (grammar attack) on the forum at large, they don't cause trouble or get in trouble alot, they weren't recruited to Atlas simply for the purpose of participating in this silly little game, they have a long history and have established themselves on this site.

People like azmagic, dallasfan, Elvis Republican, etc, well, they're kind of stupid honestly, to be a little harsh about it. They post on the forum at large to maintain the bare minimum, they have extremely low total post counts, almost no one knows who the hell they are, they seem like the type of person who was recruited simply to be used in Atlasia, the list goes on. Those are classic zombie qualifiers.

We could get into arguments too over more complicated shades. People who cause trouble and obsessively participate in Atlasia. But that's an argument for another day. For now, this is about the inactive type of zombie/tool. If anyone wanted my philosophy on zombies, I supposed that's as detailed as I can think to be on the topic.

It is a bit of an awkward thing to define, I suppose. By that I mean not posting responses to lengthy and mature posts within mere seconds just to spam the thread, not insulting just for the sake of insulting, basically just not being a troll like ECR. Just being mature and fair in your responses in general.

Ah, I see. I agree with that assessment.

I advise you look through ECR's posting history. You clearly aren't fit for this job if you think he doesn't contribute.

A good example of a troll would be BRTD or GM3PRP, neither of which contribute anything.

I promise I'm not ignoring you. It's just a long list! Smiley

I would de-register many of those voters, some haven't contributed for many years, but they were former officer holders, so I would have to investigate them, further.

Also, many of those are newbies, and have run for office, etc., I do not consider them zombies.

There's like 33 posters there, dude. The point of HAEV is to evaluate people in depth on a case by case basis. This board isn't design to operate like "You get eliminated, and you get eliminated, and you get eliminated!"

I resent that comment.

As to ECR, I never said he didn't contribute. He might be a bit "trollish", but I don't believe he's a zombie.

As I've said before, a Troll is different form a Zombie.

Exactly. The way I wish the HAEV to operate is each individual is accused of being a troll, we conduct a full investigation, and pass sentence. Of course, they have the possibility of appeal.

De-registering wouldn't solve the problem either. There's no real solution to it, frankly.

Also, excuse my ignorance by what is the HAEV? I'm assuming it has to deal with the issues of zombies in some capacity?
