Nothing wrong with a primary here.

Im not a maloney fan but ny deserves better than an appointed senator.  I wonder who will run for her house seat... I lived in that district until a month ago

Did you just move to California?

Only for a month.  I'm moving to Hawaii in a couple of weeks.

Am I the only one who finds Lunar's crush on Gillibrand incredibly annoying?

I don't like messy, wasteful primaries (and I find your rush to Maloney to be annoying myself).  Paterson would have been better off choosing Maloney and I would have similarly opposed efforts to knock her off.

Because as the thread I posted indicated, this was all but a foregone conclusion days ago.

Are you confusing Carolyn Maloney with Carolyn McCarthy? Maloney probably supports more gun control than Gillibrand, but McCarthy is the one who is best known for that.

Anyhow, dissappointing, but if Maloney wasn't likely to win the Senate primary, at least she'll stay in the House.
