Well, the WP has his statement about the switch.

"I have decided to run for re-election in 2010 in the Democratic primary. I am ready, willing and anxious to take on all comers and have my candidacy for re-election determined in a general election."

What if he loses the DEM Primary?

I'd find that pretty damn funny.

Now that he has switched, Rendell will pull out all the stops in order to clear the field for him.

Rush Limbaugh is now advocating that McCain switch next.  Do you agree with that Phil?

I wonder what Olympia Snowe is thinking.

Sad day in that it reflects the changed (or changing) political landscape in this country.

Hmmph.

It is kind of sad to see all the moderates leave the party.....

Uh huh. And when he's running in the Dem primary next year, he'll be a liberal hero. Give me a break.

Well Bob Casey isn't exactly a liberal icon either.

But my point is actually this.  An event like this might cause the "boobs" to reevaluate their positions and they may "stumble" onto a viable path.

As if the tea-baggers and Rush will let them do that.

The Facebook and Conservative website comments are amazing.  Our own activists want to give away Snowe, Collins, McCain, Alexander, Gov. Schwarzenegger, to the Dems.

This is insanity.

Alexander who? Lamar?
Why? What has he done to be considered RINO?

Democrats are like an ugly girl who needs a prom date: They'll take anyone.

There is no such thing as an ugly vote.

Chris Matthews and Michael Smerconish are talking up Tom Ridge as a challenger to Toomey and someone who could beat Specter.

I tend to think that would be too cute by half. Ridge is like Specter... and I don't think he could win in a primary by substituting for Specter when Specter was getting his ass kicked.

Chris just loves saying whatever the hell comes to his mind.

Ridge won't run.

Actually it was Smerconish who mentioned Ridge. And if I remember correctly he said that Ridge made a statement that he is looking at the race now.
