In terms of obsticles to getting Obama's agenda passed:

Democrats losing a relatve progressive vote like Reid's from their 60 seat majority > Reid's questionable effectiveness as majority leader.

I don't blame inititives stalling in the senate on Reid half as much as I blame conservative Democrats like Ben Nelson, Lincoln, Lieberman etc., and not one tenth as much as I do Mitch McConnell and the other 39 senate republicans (with a 10% exemption for the Maine sisters). Thus, while I'm less than thrilled with Reid as leader, as far as next year's senate race Reid > x1000 any Nevada Republican.

Except maybe Wayne Newton, baby.
