At some point being nice to people who are morally reprehensible will get you no where.  Screw being nice and making those who are deplorable feel bad.  They should feel like sh**t for supporting that.
I guess, you don't understand, how it works.

"Deplorables" won't feel bad/angry. They probably won't even know about Hillary's statement, and if they will, they won't give a f**k.

But some of those, who are not "deplorables" will feel angry/betrayed. If they not already vote for Trump, they miht switch (they probably know a Trump supporter[s ] that is[are] not deplorables. for example). If they already vote for him, it will solidify them as Trump supporters Smiley

IMHO

The effect will be minimal, as the people she was talking about generally won't know what the word means.  Perhaps they'll assume it's a compliment?

Meanwhile, those who do know what it means likely already agree with her.

As always, those from the party of "tolerance" think they are better than those that dare to be different and not vote for their guy.

Your level of Alinsky-like ridicule will do nothing to change my mind or shut up.

I dunno, personally I never claimed I tolerated hyper-partisan people with crazy double standards when it comes to their candidate of choice Tongue

And honestly, I wasn't (I can't speak for hermit) trying to change your mind on anything. I just like to periodically point out to other people just how awful you are.

Well, Clinton only left two choices: bigots or desperate losers.

In the other half of her statement, she said:
“That other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they're just desperate for change.”

She left no room for people who support Trump because just don't like or trust her, no room for people who think the government is too big and she'd only make it bigger, no room for people who are opposed to the type of liberal Supreme Court justices she'd choose, etc.  If you support Trump, you're either a bigot or a loser.  Take your pick.

Clinton's remarks might work well on this website, where many red avatars think Trump supporters should be hung for treason (or something like that), anyway, but won't sit well with the American public.  You don't attack all of your opponent's supporters.  That's not fair game.

She said "Trump supporters", not Trump voters. To me, at least, "supporter" is someone who is vocally favorable towards their candidate, not a "lesser of two evils" type. And among active Trump supporters, from the primaries onwards, there have been strong undercurrents of both bigotry and economic insecurity. These are the people who responded the most to Trump's message, because it was tailor-made to win them over.

Don't apologize for saying things that are 100% true. It may not be politically correct, but it's time to drop the gloves.

And neither did the 47% moment. It just extended Obama's convention bounce for a few weeks.

I'm a YUGE Romney supporter who thinks he would have made the greatest President since Reagan.  But I respectfully disagree with this comment.  The 47% tape was in my opinion one of the most pivotal moments of the 2012 general election campaign, along with Bill Clinton's barnburner at the DNC and Obama+Candy Crowley gangbanging Romney on Benghazi at the 2nd debate.

I don't give a damn if they are hardworking educated American clergymen (who previously served in the military) ! !

Hillary Clinton proving once and for all just how wicked and connivingly evil she really is and the utter hatred within her. If she wants to create divisions rather than work to promote change, then I will officially be saying, Not My President. Really tragically shameful. I wish I didn't have to suffer under her (and her minions') reign.

The spinning of this already making me dizzy and pretty pathetic to see.
