I wasn't gonna chicken little anymore but the latest polls made me do so. Democrats should have went with Bernie. I don't know how she will do tonight at the debate but I'm very very worried that she will lose.

Should HAVE. Have, have, have, have, have, NEVER "of".

And no, they shouldn't.

The hysteria that a lot of people have on the left is hilarious to be honest. Just because Bernie at the time was polling extremely high doesn't mean that Bernie would still be leading by that much now. Hillary threw softball attacks on him, once he got to the general election and the real attacks began...I highly doubt that his popularity would have remained the same and we might be in the same boat we are now.

How do people win anything, if they can't deal with the difficult times.

Bernie would have had PLENTY of his own challenges (including some left alone in the primaries), don't fool yourself. Plus, if you believe in a candidate, don't bail when it gets difficult.

Now is not the time for this discussion. There is one goal, chicken-littling and second guessing does nothing except make things worse. Want to crash turnout, keep this nonsense up.

Yeah, I remain unconvinced Bernie would be doing any better.

I was a Bernie voter.

But c'mon, he would've been torn to shreds by the Republican party as a socialist.  He would have been demonized so bad that his high numbers against Trump during the primary would've evaporated.

I don't know about Bernie (Bernie voter here), but Biden or Warren (my clear #1 choice in 2020 if Trump wins) would probably look pretty good right now.

Ehn... Biden has a bit too much baggage (the plagarised speeches/papers). I could easily see a few attack ads on this

He would have been demonized as a socialist or even worse a communist. Come on. He had the huge support of millennials. Millennials are not taken seriously in this country. You think the country would hand over the presidency to a group of folks who are being laughed at in this country with the nonsense of the college campuses? Trump would have been leading by 6-10 points right now, regardless of Sanders' anti-free trade positions.

Let's wait until after the debate.

I think it's possible Sanders could have done better, but not guaranteed. And I voted for him.

It's possible Biden could have done better, I guess (not Warren because the media caricature of a shrill nagging mother-in-law would be as bad if not worse than with Hillary) but if Trump wins (!) it won't be because a 75-year-old Marxist with a long and sordid history of radical associations to spook middle class voters wasn't the nominee.

Relax. Trump isn't going to be President. It's not going to be close.

Until Clinton catches up in NV and FL, I will remain worried. (I go by the 538 polls-only. About the only unbiased thing Silver does.)

Instead of wishing for Bernie or Biden you should instead be dealing with the reality and supporting Clinton if you want her to win rather than cast more doubt which only creates a negative feedback loop.

If the election was held today I'd vote for Clinton. But Dems still deserve to be slammed for their rigged primary system that kept several good candidates from even running, most notably our great vice president, who would defeat Trump very decisively.

I voted for Bernie, but this buyer's remorse has to stop. Democrats chose Hillary, and we have to live with this decision. Also, if she loses, we can't blame it entirely on her. Shame on us if our party can't energize people and get them out to vote when our opponent is a big orange schmuck.

If she loses, it is entirely her fault. Dems come out when they have someone to be excited about, like Obama. Hillary is the least exciting candidate they could have possibly chose to run aside from Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee.

Of course he would. I think it would look basically the same as now. It's naive to think Sanders would carry Democrats into some super-duper-landslide. And I'm saying this as Bernie supporters.

Yep, the Dems got this wrong a the very start.

Biden has some baggage but he is so likable. People have such an entrenched negative view of HRC that is was going to be a challenge for her to win.

For Election results Biden>Bernie>>>>>>>>>>Clinton.  If Clinton was running even against Jeb! like I thought this race would be (because Clintons and Bushes 4eva)...I think Jeb! would had a solid if not sweeping victory.

Not that much, trump, Cruz, and perhaps Rubio were the worst ones.

The other contenders wouldn't have been so audacious, allowing HRC to easily sling back mud, this is especially the case with Jeb!

But only Obama, Biden, John Bel Edwards could play him and beat him.

No. If this election was about the Clinton legacy vs Bush legacy, then Jeb! would certainly not be the favorite.
