You might think that this is another defamation post about Obama. But every smear has been already spread all over, and there is no need to repeat things that everybody knows.
What I’m going to talk about is red and blue. In the upcoming November elections we need to choose between the two colors – again. But in my opinion, it’s the choice of the least worst option. Both parties have discredited themselves, and the latest impeachment story is one of the bright examples.
As for me, I think that the two-party system needs to be changed so that the politicians wouldn’t be that relaxed – why do they need to worry if they can change the situation in two years?
To give a jolt to the whole system, we might need a third party. A real party that is something different from the old ones. Then it could turn into real struggle and competition for the future of the country.
What could be the color of the third party? I think, purple as a mixture of red and blue.

Not sure this thread should be in this sub-forum but.....

If you want a strong third party (or many of them), than you should be pushing for the Alternative Vote (AKA Instant-runoff voting).

For the House of Representatives, a Single Transferable Vote system could be implemented.

With the current system and campaign finance laws, there isn't going to be new political parties who can win elections.

A third party's color should be yellow, as it is the third primary color. The Libertarian Party is sometimes represented with it, actually.

Sorry, haven't sorted out the sub-forums yet. =)

Why do you think we need the Alternative Vote? As far as I know it's not really wide spread, and most countries with multi-party system use simple plurality voting...
And I truly believe that if want change the existing system, we can do that - we just need to be persistent enough. Sort of, that's the core of our democracy. =)

No. First past the post is a strictly Anglo-Saxon abomination.
