I'll be the dick who says that I thought that joke was funny, though I'd rather wish a flat tire or a lack of gas on ClassicConservative.

It's somewhat shocking how much work has been put into that Wiki.

He tells it like it is, is legitimately better on policy than any of the other GOP candidates, and is generally an entertaining, charismatic individual.  I like how he's stuck it to the GOP establishment as well as many other sad hypocrites.  I love the bombast.  We also seem to broadly have similar worldviews, he just happens to be nationalist for a different country.

But most of all I support him because it's hilarious to see how hysterical his opponents on here get when I say that I do.

Tell us why you wouldn't vote for TRUMP. Say what you will about Violent Socialist, but he gave his reasoning. You just shouted "NO!" without saying anything else.

- TRUMP brags about his wealth and can't understand the struggles of middle class america.
- TRUMP lacks specifics on several issues, and thinks he's running for King.
- TRUMP opposes ObamaCare.
- TRUMP is anti-immigrant, racist against hispanics, enjoys demonizing women who aren't PC around him, and won't consistently denounce the KKK.
- TRUMP is a failure who has been bankrupt several times, and is thus worse than even most Partisan Democrats when it comes to commitment to keeping the deficit down and ultimately balancing the budget, a critical issue to me.
- And ultimately, the fact that TRUMP has rewritten his entire political ideology over the last few years makes it impossible to really know what he'll do in office.

Honestly, anyone willing to help Trump get in the White House is being idiotic and reckless as hell with the future of our country. If you don't want an establishment politician, at least find someone who is reasonable, policy-smart and doesn't offend almost everyone. Trump would be terrible for domestic and international relations and is going to spark a lot of discontent stateside as he turns the executive / White House into a pathetic joke.

I suppose, though, Trump is the natural result of an electorate that is largely uninformed and lazy. They wouldn't be so angry about Washington not getting anything done if they didn't keep voting for radical / partisan politicians who furthered gridlock in Congress. Like, these conservatives bitch about nothing getting solved and yet they kept voting for the very people who engineered the massive obstruction of Congressional duties. The people share blame in this, and yet here they are, willing to send this moron to the White House because yeah, that's their solution to their own years of stupidity and ignorance.

Everyone else who is informed and supporting Trump: What in the hell is wrong with you?

let's dispel this notion that trump voters don't know what they're doing - they know exactly what they're doing

It looks to me like all major "lanes"/factions of the GOP are still represented by the Final Four... except for libertarianism, which really only became a lane with Ron Paul in '08/'12.

Why is this?

Is it a failure of Rand Paul, or a failure of libertarianism to find support in the GOP? (Or both?)

It's because "Libertarianism" is actually about racism, corporate dominance, and religious zealotry. And those are all quite well covered by the current candidates.

Is that more or less ignorant than "Somalia is a libertarian paradise"?  It's certainly more angry.  I'm leaning towards more ignorant just because of the layers.

wow rly makes u think huh

Maybe if you had even the slightest idea of what growing up with a jobless single-parent is like, you'd understand why I have nothing but contempt for inbred Appalachian hicks who literally sh**t away their votes at politicians who have no interests but "muh guns", "muh abortion", "muh cultural values", and "it's dat dang ol' ns fault!" on their mind.

I don't owe these idiots any sort of respect or ing coddling for being poor, nor did I at any point ever expect anybody to owe me any respect or coddling for it.

So yeah, as an answer to the thread, I do: Myself before 25 and most of my family to this day. But continue to tell me of all people that Appalachian hicks are owed some sort of free pass or special attention.

On Bernie Sanders in West Virginia:

Yes, he was on track for a 70% win in West Virginia. Now he could lose there. A win in West Virginia could have helped bring the state back into the Democratic fold.

Ummmm yeah, it's much easier for a Democrat to win a Senate race in FL than it is for a Republican.

I must disagree.

First, the Democratic bench in Florida is extremely limited. If you're referring to Bill Nelson, well, he's extremely lucky. He ran for reelection in 2006, benefiting from a nationwide wave, as well as having a terrible opponent, while 2012 was also Democratic-friendly year. Imagine him running in either 2010 or 2014.

But he's a veteran incumbent. Democrats capturing an open Senate seat in Florida is much diffrent story. They failed to do it since 2000 while Republicans did it a couple of times.

If you're claiming that Democrats have better prospect at the Senate in Florida, as opposed to other state elections, I may agree, but a "blue state"? Come on. It's swing at the very best.

Everyone knows the reason but isn't allowed to say it because there's no nice way to say it. The most delicate way to put it is this:

Sanders supporters tend to be more educated.

Because of a legacy of racism, unfortunately, African Americans, especially in the deep south, tend to be less educated.

Add those two facts together and you have the one and only reason Hillary is winning Alabama with 80%.

Of course, for the sake of fairness (I say this because it's true, not because it will convince anyone the above argument isn't racist, it won't) White voters in the South also tend to be less educated. That's why they similarly vote for the candidate with the most name recognition (Trump).

Wow, "Only uneducated / unintelligent people like Hillary". Talk about something overwhelmingly condescending and completely untrue.

And people wonder why Sanders can't win support among African Americans. Doesn't exactly help when he has an uncontrollable army of people going around talking down to people and Bernie-splaining to them as if they are incapable of making their own rational decisions.

As much as I hate the term "mansplaining" (and "Bernie-splaining" by extension), the word "Bernie-splaining" applies perfectly here.
