in the case of most BAAO songs, better. Joel is one of the best vocalists around nowadays. So much raw emotion and he replicates it live as well.

He's also one of the best lyricists ever (although I'm sure if I wasn't Christian I wouldn't appreciate them quite as much)

have you heard of Silent Planet? Joel features on a song from their first record and their lyrics are incredibly intelligent.
