What is your opinion on the enlightened precepts of GNOSTIC CHRISTIANITY? Are they the only way to salvation, or are they?

Discuss, with or without maps.

Regards
AV

Salvation is a strange concept.

It assumes that we have been condemned and need saving from someone or something.

The only salvation a Gnostic Christian needs, as we have never been condemned, is being saved for ever believing anything of the supernatural. We tend to save ourselves from that delusional thinking.

There in no imaginary God holding an axe over us.

The need of salvation from an imaginary God is a human invention created to help the sheeple loosen their purse strings and enrich lying priests and imams. It is all based on false guilt.

Bishop Spong says that well here.

Even Martin Luther had the lie pegged.

Then again, he was basically a Gnostic Christian in his thinking.

Gnosticism in general, regardless of whether it is Christian, is a horrible religion that only pseudo-intellectual snobs could love.

If you love Gnosticism, you are something much more than a pseudo-intellectual. In fact, you might just be an intellectual, to the exclusion of all else.

Only a desire for civilization will cause one to love any theology or philosophy, be they religious or political.

All such systems are an insult to our true freedom and independence.

Unfortunately, our desire for civilization as well as our efforts to be the fittest humans force us to slave ourselves to such systems.

Some ChurchFathers called Christianity "the real gnosis".
But the Gnosis itself is antichristian, because of claiming, that the human soul is pars Dei - what is simply laughable!

Gnostic Christianity is not so much antichristian as it is anti those who have become idol worshipers of a genocidal son murdering God, whom moral people would reject as being more Satan like than God like.

We are anti the Christian necessity to form an immoral double standard of morality where Christians love and honor Yahweh all the more for doing things that all moral people would condemn if a person did them.

God is shown to torture and murder of innocent babies  and children for what their parents have done.

The murder of the first born of Egypt and the great flood being examples of that torture and murder of innocent babies  and children for what their parents have done.

And if you're a Christian who rejects those OT tales?

If Gnostic Christians were seen as Christians then Christians would not have decimated us in the days when Constantine sent out his new church to kill all who would not kowtow to Christian beliefs.

And if you're a Christian who rejects those OT tales?

To snowclone Newt Gingrich, I don't think Marcionite contempt for the Old Testament is necessarily any more desirable than Gnostic contempt for the Old Testament.

Contempt is not the word I would use.

I would use the language shown in this link.

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/03132009/watch.html

Rabbi Hillel, the older contemporary of Jesus, said that when asked to sum up the whole of Jewish teaching, while he stood on one leg, said, "The Golden Rule. That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the Torah. And everything else is only commentary. Now, go and study it."

Please listen as to what is said about literal reading.

"Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning."
