This brings up a question I've had - the right talks about changes to Social Security, but it's always retirement.  People like the author's son should be on SSD (Social Security Disability), and I've heard nothing about how any plans will effect those on SSD for mental illness (because for some, unless it's a "visible illness," people for whatever reason shouldn't be on it).

Of course, the whole discussion by the mainstream parties has been pandering, so the whole thing is a joke.
