With the first two, I was far more optimistic with the then-ascendant Democratic Party. The 2012 election was more a feeling of relief, while 2010 was one of utter devastation.
Yes, I do consider this election to be considerably worse than 2010. At least then, we still had control of one House of Congress and were in better shape in state governments. I, like pretty much everyone else, was expecting a wave in 2010 and a virtual guaranteed loss of the House. This election, while the Senate was more than likely gone, I thought we still had a reasonable chance at keeping the majority. I was not at all expecting the extent and magnitude of this defeat.
